The Waves - song list duo / trio /
Dion and Chris are ‘The Waves’, and have been winning over crowds for over 10 years. Dion’s voice is ideally suited to covering a wide range of rock and pop. Whether singing ballads like Don’t Dream it’s Over or Tiny Dancer, classic hits like Sweet Home Alabama or Eagle Rock, or up-tempo rockers like Start Me Up or What I Like About You, he sings with energy and passion that never fails to get an audience on the dance floor. Chris’ background includes playing keyboards, guitar and vocals in rock bands such as Mirrored Image, Lie Detectors, Swanee, Sidetrack, Obsession and The Longboards and with these bands has supported major acts over the years including Steppenwolf, Canned Heat, Midnight Oil and Cold Chisel. With a huge ‘summery’ repertoire ranging from soft rock ballads (eg Easy, Angels, etc) to high energy rock, patrons can sing along with classics like Jessie’s Girl and Summer of 69, and rock to more recent hits like Sex on Fire, Learn to Fly, Happy and Lonely Boy. In keeping with the name The Waves, lots of surf songs and guitar instrumentals are on offer. The Waves also perform as a trio, adding Joel on lead guitar and an extra vocal for three part harmonies. This frees Chris up to play keyboards, all adding up to the fullest trio sound you’ve ever heard.
